리타 테일러는 스위스 출신 캐나다 시민으로, 영남대 교수 영문과 교수로 재직했다. 스위스에 본부를 두고 있는 인지학회(Anthroposophical Society) 회원이다. 이 책은 그가 한국에서 생활하면서 만난 사람, 사물, 사건에 대한 에세이 형식의 기록이다.

Rita Taylor(2016년 작고)

스위스 출생 후 가족이 캐나다로 이주. 브리티시컬럼비아대학에서 비교문학 전공. 이후 피지, 코스타리카를 비롯 세계 여러 장소에서 문학을 가르치고 문화·사회운동을 경험하였다. 한국에서 10여 년 이상 거주하며 영남대 교수, 청계자유발도르프학교 교사 역임. 인지학회 회원.
